Directions from Bergerac Airport to Château Rigaud
Leave airport on exit road and turn right at T Junction
At next roundabout turn left signposted Ste. Foy La Grande, Castillon la Bataille and Bordeaux.
Continue straight over the first roundabout and again at the second roundabout which features a McDonalds and Leclerc shopping Centre, take last exit signposted Bordeaux (D936)
Continue along the D936 following signs for Bordeaux for about 25 kilometres until you reach Castillon La Bataille.
As you drive down the hill slightly into Castillon you arrive at a major crossroads with a left filter lane and traffic lights. Turn left here into the town and follow the signposts for Pujols.
Continue through the tree lined square and over the stone bridge following signs for Pujols.
After about 1km you will arrive at a staggered junction which is almost a crossroads. Turn left here following signs Mouliets et Villemartin, Pellegrue and Flaujagues
Continue in to village of Mouliets, when you pass the village sign on your right you need to take the next right at the crossroads just before the war memorial.
Continue along this road across the valley until you come to a T Junction. Turn left and continue for about a kilometre. Chateau Rigaud is on the right surrounded by a wall and with an arched gateway.
Drive up through the arch and park under the tree. You have arrived, welcome!
Directions from Bordeaux Airport to Château Rigaud
The airport road takes you to a roundabout. Take the second exit which is the main road towards Bordeaux, then go straight over at the second roundabout and straight afterwards take the right hand filter turn onto the ROCADE, Direction Paris and Libourne.
Follow the Rocade until you cross over the huge suspension bridge, the Pont D'Aquitaine. As you leave the bridge move into the right hand lane and stay there, taking the SECOND filter right, DIRECTION LIBOURNE, and then again after a couple of kilometres you exit the Rocade on the LIBOURNE slip road.
There are traffic lights at the top of the sliproad, turn left onto the N89 / E70 following the dual carriageway up the hill, direction Libourne.
Stay on this dual carriageway to exit 9, Libourne which is also signed for St Emilion and Castillon
Stay on this road until you reach the exit signed for St Emilion and Castillon La Bataille. Turn right at the top of the slip road and follow the road all the way to Castillon La Bataille.
While you're on this road you'll pass signs for St Emilion on the hill on your left. Be very careful of the speed camera in St Pey D'Armens!
Approaching Castillon you pass a huge E.Leclerc supermarket on the right. At the next roundabout take the right exit signed for Pujols.
Follow this road around the sharp bend and at the T Junction turn right, then continue over the iron bridge (designed by Eiffle of Eiffle Tower fame!) and continue to the next T Junction.
This is a dangerous junction so be careful.... you need to turn right then immediately left. Continue past the Mouliets et Villemartin village sign then take the first right turn which is opposite the war memorial and signed for the Cemitiere. You then pass the cemetery on your right and continue across the valley to the next T junction.
Turn left at the T junction and continue for about half a mile, round a bend then down the slight slope until you see Chateau Rigaud ahead of you on the right hand side.
Drive up through the arch and park under the tree. Someone should come out to greet you and take your bags before you park your car in the parking at the far end of the quad.
Directions from Libourne TGV station to Château Rigaud
Take Rue de Chanzy straight out of the station, (at the main station roundabout this one leads directly away with the station behind you) which will take you up to the long wide tree lined avenue of Cours Tourny / Allees Robert Boulin.
You are forced to turn right onto Cours Tourny since it’s two lanes on either side but you then need to turn left across the road by means of the roundabout at the end and continue back down to the huge Square des Quinzieme Dragons where you take the Bergerac road, (D670 Avenue Verdun).
Keep going on this road. You will pass the football ground and then Carrefour. Over several roundabouts and on, direction St Emilion and Bergerac.
Pass by St Emilion on the left and continue, through St Pey D'Armens (take care of a speed camera!) and just keep coming until you get close to Castillon La Bataille.
