Wine Weekend in the Bordeaux Vines Autumn 2024

Thursday 24 - Sunday 27 October

Thursday 31 October - Sunday 3 November

Thursday 5 - Sunday 8 December

A rare opportunity to enjoy Rigaud on a per room basis & in a convivial house party atmosphere. Discover the Bordeaux vines & vineyards along with far too much delicious food & great company. It’s an informal, relaxed weekend, with optional visits & tastings in St Emilion & Sauternes, plus a market trip & perhaps a brocante if you fancy it. We promise more fun than facts, no lectures on malolactic fermentation, just an entertaining weekend away that’s short on facts but long on tastings. Relax & enjoy everything our amazing region has to offer…

arrival day

Afternoon arrival at Rigaud, for a very informal tasting of Bordeaux Cremant & cake on the lawns, with time to unpack before canapés in the bar & a regional four course dinner, filled with typical Bordelais ingredients & accompanied by a selection of local wines

day two "Exploring the Right Bank"

Optional visits to a small-scale family run vineyard in the morning & a prestigious Grand Cru Classé Chateau in the afternoon. Lunch with the locals & a chance to buy a bottle of something interesting to discuss over dinner. Optional time for a walk-about in the pretty village of St Emilion before returning to Rigaud for tea on the lawns, drinks in the bar or maybe a siesta before dinner is served with Right Bank wines that reflect a hard day of research in the vines.

day three “Discovering Sauternes”

Lots of choices here. Maybe a market visit in the morning? A rummage through the flea market at Le Chariot Bleu brocante? Or the chocolate factory in Duras? In the afternoon we’re off to the stunning 1er Grand Cru Classé Chateau Guiraud to taste their incredible sweet and dry whites.

Evening “Tasting Dinner” matching fine wines to the excellent food of Rigaud Head Chef, John Grabecki
