Located on the banks of the Dordogne, just 3 kms from Chateau Rigaud, this is the perfect venue for your rehearsal night dinner. Serving traditional French cuisine alongside delicious local wines.

Seated dinner for up to 80 diners

Standing wine tasting evening with substantial canapés

 Wine tasting set up on barrel tops, offering a selection of 6 local wines, red, white, rosé and fizz. Written information provided next to each barrel and with food circulated by waiting team.

 Mixed Tartines (large flat toasts with mixed toppings, eg pea and mint purée with feta / smoked salmon, rockett & horseradish cream / Bayonne ham, goat cheese & caramelised onion / vegan avocado & tomato salsa / mushroom & truffled shallots)

FAQs: 


Can you offer a meal for less than €46 per head?

There is the option for the couple getting married, or their family, to cover a percentage of the bill or to provide a proportion of the drinks - a welcome cocktail or wines on the tables for example, which can work well. Equally we are entirely confident that your guests will feel the quality of the food and venue represents excellent value for money. They will be hungry & looking for a decent meal on the first night in France. 

Can you offer more choice or alternative menus for dietary requirements?

The Bistro cannot offer a group of this size a choice of menu on the night. The very social aspect of the rehearsal meal, with many people meeting for the first time in a long time, means service is extremely challenging. Your guests frequently move around during the dinner & the atmosphere is always excitable. Offering one option for everyone works brilliantly, allowing your guests to focus on one another rather than menus. The vegetarian option offered can be prepared for a vegan diet & other allergies can be accommodated if we are aware in advance, usually via the online booking form.

We want something completely different to the menus you have suggested?

At The Bistro we have devised menus which we know will work successfully for large numbers in this setting. We cannot offer BBQ, steaks, fish or frites for large numbers.

Chateau de Candale is a wine estate near St Emilion. Its restaurant, Atelier de Candale, is set among the vineyards with wide views across the valley from its beautiful terrace.
